Rafał Iwański (X-NAVI:ET, Voices of the Cosmos, HATI) is a percussionist and electronic sound artist. He presents electro-acoustic music, a combination of analog electronic sound generators and filter machines with acoustic instruments and field/found recordings. R. Iwański is the enduring member and co-founder of the group HATI, whose improvised music employs the sounds of traditional ethnic instruments and re-cycled objects to create ritual and meditative atmospheres. He has performed many times with HATI and as soloist throughout Europe and USA. R. Iwański has collaborated live with Infamis (+ split cd: X-NAVI:ET & ELECTRIC URANUS ‘Voices of the Cosmos’, 2011, Beast Of Prey/Eter Records), Jeff Gburek (+ album }e{nigmaplasme & X-naVI:et ‘Slope/The Experience of Losing Control’, 2010, Eter Records), Joke Lanz/SUDDEN INFANT, Peter Kastner, Anna Pilewicz (audio-video project ‘Aqualuna’) and others.

With HATI he has performed live and recorded with: Z’EV (+ 2 full length albums: HATI vs. Z”EV # 1, 2006, Ars Benevola Mater; Z’EV & HATI ‘Heart of a Wolf’, 2011, Zoharum Records), Peter Votava/PURE (project PRSZR), PAS (+ full length album PAS/HATI present P.H.A.S.T.I., 2011, PAS Records), Sławek Ciesielski (ex Republika), John Zorn, Steve Buchanan, Heike Fiedler, Robert Curgenven, Raymond Salvatore Harmon and many others. For ‘Voices of the Cosmos’ – acclaimed album by X-NAVI:ET and ELECTRIC URANUS – original sounds were captured from space by radio telescopes (pulsars), sounds from space missions and the space itself. The project had gain reputation in science circles (Polish Astronomical Society, Torun Center for Astronomy of the Nicolaus Copernicus University). Last release (February 2012): 12” vinyl X-NAVI:ET ‘Soundtracks for the Dying Moments’ (label: Instant Classic and Alrealon Musique – for digital release).
